Tucked into the corner of a strip plaza, Morettiās occupies three end units and features a small outdoor dining area. We were seated in the bar section, which was clean, comfortable, and had a lively sports-themed decor. That said, it could definitely use a few more Buffalo Bills itemsāGo Bills!
Our server, Sarah, was excellentāpolite, patient, and helpful as I peppered her with questions about the B.O.W. (Beef on Weck). I ordered one along with a Labatt Blue. The sandwich was priced at $14 and came with a side of fries.

š„ŖĀ The Beef on Weck
The sandwich arrived quickly, sliced in half, and served with horseradish and au jus alongside the fries.
The beef was generously portioned, tender, juicy, and steeped in au jus, delivering bold umami-rich flavor. Of all the B.O.W. sandwiches I’ve reviewed, this one stood out asĀ the best beef by far.
The rollāa classic Costanzoās Bakery creationāwas grilled to perfection with great moisture. The caraway seeds were a nice touch, though I wished for more (or larger) grains of salt on the roll for that authentic crunch.
The horseradish leaned on the mild side, but still delivered good flavor. TheĀ au jus? Absolute perfection. I’ve encountered everything from brown-tinted water to greasy messes masquerading as au jus in Florida, but this one was a revelation: rich in flavor, just the right consistency, great color, and ideal ādippability.ā I enjoyed it so much, I finished it like soup.
The only miss? No pickle on the plateābut with beef and jus like this, it was barely missed.

The fries were well-prepared, crisp, and tasty. I requested malt vinegar (which they happily provided), adding a satisfying tang. There were several alternative side options available too.

Morettiās felt welcoming from the moment we walked in. It was spotless, smelled great, and had a laid-back, cozy atmosphere. Both my wife and I felt like regulars. Service, food, and vibe all hit the mark.

Iāll absolutely return to Morettiās whenever Iām within 100 miles of Mauldin, SC. This B.O.W. is worth the detour. A must-visit for any true Beef on Weck connoisseur.
